2015 MASS VISUAL ARTS FIFTH ANNUAL EXHIBITION

OPEN CALL for recent works produced within the last two years.

MASS is a non-profit organization run by artists committed to a consensual decision making process. We produce annual exhibitions in North Florida featuring innovative art from a diverse range of contributors both regionally and nationally. The goal is to both bring arts to the public as well as create a critical mass of artists and supporters in the region.

HOW TO SUBMIT: Submission form is available at www.massvisualarts.org. Submission is open to all artists and all forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art, video, etc. are eligible. You may submit up to 5 pieces for consideration. Send 5 digital jpeg images (minimum 300 dpi and maximum 1200 dpi), artwork list (title, medium, dimensions, and, if the piece is for sale, artist’s compensation expected for each piece submitted inclusive of a 30% commission to MASS), and a processing fee of $20. Applications must contain an accurate representation (including any planned framing or display apparatus) of work to be exhibited. We will be inviting an independent panel of renowned artists to review the submissions and make recommendations for inclusion in the show. EXHIBITION: Selected artists will be exhibited in a large event space at First Magnitude Brewery (fmbrewing.com) in downtown Gainesville, FL. The exhibition will open Friday, November 6 and remain free and open to the public through Sunday, November 15.

EXHIBITION TERMS: Works in the show that are for sale will be subject to a 30% commission fee. This fee will be retained by MASS Visual Arts to support future exhibition production costs and arts promotion. We are a non-profit organization. The artist will determine the sale price. All sales must be arranged through MASS Visual Arts.

ENTRY FEES: There is a $20.00 entry fee for up to five artworks submitted. Presentation is by digital JPG image files (300dpi). Artists will not be charged additional fees of any kind. Payment must be submitted by check or money order to MASS Visual Arts. Entry fees will be used to produce the exhibition, promotional materials, and opening. Entry fee does not guarantee placement in the exhibition.        Mail a check or money order payable to MASS Visual Arts, CD with jpeg images, hardcopy and digital copy of application and artworks list to:

The final entry deadline is October 1, 2015. Entries must be postmarked by this date.

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS: Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. Artists selected for the exhibit grant MASS Visual Arts rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes only. MASS Visual Arts retains no copyrights.

NOTIFICATION: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than October 9, 2015. Notification will be made via email and by posting on the webpage. All artists who provide a working email address will be notified via email, if no email is provided, artists will be notified via postal mail only if accepted to exhibit. Be sure to type your email address correctly, if a mistake is made we may not be able to contact you.

PRIVACY POLICY: Artist contact information is only held for the purpose of contacting selected artists and is only used internally by MASS. All artist emails will be added to our future events announcement email list. Artists who do not wish to be on the email list may unsubscribe when they receive their notification.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK: Artists can either deliver in person or ship their works to 111 SW 3rd ST., Gainesville, FL 32601. Shipped works must arrive by October 30, 2015 and include a return shipping form with prepaid postage (USPS, UPS or FedEx). Improper framing or mounting may result in refusal of delivery. Hand delivery of works will need to take place on November 2. Pickup will be on November 15, 2015.
