MASS 5 OPENS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6

MASS 5 is opening Friday, November 6 from 7 pm to 10 pm at First Magnitude Brewery. 

Come join us for opening night!

The exhibition will be open from Friday, November 6 to Saturday, November 14 at First Magnitude Brewery located at 1220 SE Veitch Street, Gainesville, Florida. The First Magnitude parking lot fills up quickly, but you can park on Main Street with an easy, short walk to the brewery.

OPEN HOURS for the exhibition are :

November 6       Friday 7 – 10 pm   Opening

November 7       Saturday 2 – 10 pm

November 8       Sunday 2 – 8 pm

November 9       Monday – Closed

November 10     Tuesday 4 – 9 pm

November 11     Wednesday 4 – 9 pm

November 12     Thursday 4 – 9 pm

November 13     Friday 4 – 10 pm

November 14     Saturday  2 – 10 pm   Closing

Tuesday, November 10 to Thursday, November 12 – ARTIST TALKS

Artists participating in MASS  5 will speak informally about their artwork 11/10 – 11/12. Four lectures a night starting at 6:00 pm with the last lecture at 8:00 pm. Join us on these nights to hear them speak about the process and execution of their work. Schedule of speakers and times to be posted soon.

MASS 5 – NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE POSTPONED UNTIL OCTOBER 12

MASS would like to thank all the artists who submitted art work for the open call to artists. Due to an exceptional amount of submissions, we will be postponing notifications of acceptance until Monday, October 12 for the Mass 5 annual exhibition at First Magnitude.

The deadline for the call to artists for our next art exhibition at First Magnitude Brewery is approaching. Download the prospectus and application for submission here and send to Mass by October 1st. Please feel free to submit your entries earlier than the deadline date. Take a look at First Magnitude and the spaces available for the art show here. Please take note, we have a large outdoor area available for sculpture submissions. We are looking forward to receiving and viewing all the art entries!

MASS 5 – A LOOK AT FIRST MAGNITUDE BREWERY

MASS 5, an open call to artists exhibition, hosted by First Magnitude Brewery is opening from November 6, 2015 to November 15, 2015. First Magnitude Brewery is located in North Central Florida in Gainesville at 1220 SE Veitch Street. Their name is taken from their geographic location of North Central Florida being the highest concentration of fresh water springs. A first magnitude spring classifies a spring discharging water at a rate of at least 2800 liters or 100 cubic feet (2.8 m³) of water per second.

Itchetucknee Springs – Fort White, Florida

A first magnitude star is the brightest in the night sky. Their logo incorporates both water and celestial.

First Magnitude offers an assortment of beers from the Siren Blonde to Devil’s Eye Double IPA. Plus, if your’re hungry, First Magnitude always has some option for good eats with a food truck parked in the parking lot. The beer tasting room and the brewery warehouse will showcase the MASS 5 show, along with the outdoor courtyard which has plenty of room for outdoor sculpture. MASS Visual Arts has produced four annual exhibitions and one MASS Spec show in Gainesville, Florida. Our annual show is a juried exhibition open call to artists.
